Easy Cleaning

Hi! Have you been trying to get organized when it comes to cleaning? I’ve got some suggestions for you. Let’s talk about some of my absolute favorite cleaning products and how I use them around my home. This is a shorter post so I don’t bore you guys!

Floors

  • S and I recently replaced our robot vacuum and it’s the best thing since sliced bread. This model uses a laser to map out your home into zones. This way, you can tell the robot to just hit one room or all of them. It then returns to its dock to cut any hair off the brush roll and empty itself. I love that I can use the app to tell the robot what to do, monitor its progress and keep track of its battery life. It’s so useful when you’re having company because it can be cleaning the floors while you’re doing something else.

  • I know Swiffers are controversial. But the new Power Mop is the best one they’ve come up with. The little brush fibers really work as well as my old mop without me having to do anything special. There are different solutions you can buy for it. I am partial to the wood one because that’s what the majority of my flooring is. I also have a regular Swiffer that you can use wet or dry. Sometimes i’ll even just attach a paper towel to it and use a spray multipurpose cleaner to hit the bathroom floors really quickly if I have guests coming over unexpectedly.

Kitchen

  • I like to use the multipurpose spray from Trader Joe’s for cleaning the kitchen countertops, cabinets and appliances. It has a lovely cedarwood and sage scent and gets most messes out of the way the first time. As I mentioned earlier, sometimes I’ll use it on the floors too.

  • I have a Scrub Daddy and holder that I only use to clean the sink itself. The scrub daddy can go in the dishwasher and lasts a loooong time, so it’s a worthy investment.

  • Dawn Powerwash spray is the best dish soap I’ve ever used. I find that I need way less of this product than traditional dish soap and it gets even stuck-on messes out. You can also use this product to clean other things like the bathroom and even shoes. You get the sprayer once and then buy refills that click into it.

  • I’ve tried many brands but I keep coming back to Cascade Platinum Plus dishwashing pods. They just work the best and I pretty much never have to re-clean dishes. Consider Jet Dry to go alongside these for clean, dry dishes every time. The bottles are huge and last a long time.

  • So I’m not one of those influencers who has to empty everything into an aesthetically pleasing container, but I do advocate for anything that makes my life easier. For the fridge I love having liners for the drawers and shelves. Just in case you have a sauce bottle that leaks or takeout that jumps out of the container…it’s a lot better to clean a liner than the whole fridge shelf.

  • Viva Signature Cloth paper towels. Fantastic. I try not to use too many but if you need a paper towel, this one is great. It literally performs as well as a regular towel. You can rinse it under water, wring it out and use it some more.

Bathroom

  • The Trader Joe’s spray mentioned earlier is fantastic for bathrooms! I spray it on a microfiber towel and then wipe the mirrors, countertops, shelving and then the toilet (in that order; always go from cleanest to dirtiest). These types of towels are much more sustainable and affordable than using paper towels for everything.

  • I use a toilet bowl cleaner with bleach. The clinging kind is best to make sure any stains (limescale, hard water etc) are removed. Your whole bathroom will smell so fresh! Next, I stamp the toilet with the Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Gel stamps. I’ve found that these really keep the toilet bowl clean. They dispense a small amount of product every time you flush.

  • I’ve started using these foaming shower cleaners. I can make sure I’ve hit every corner of the shower and tub with product, let it sit for a moment, scrub and rinse. Easy peasy!

  • My newest acquisition is this toilet brush from Simple Human. It has a magnetic attachment so the brush won’t just fall over easily, and it’s made so that it scrubs the underside of the toilet rim really well. This brush comes in two colors and has a five-year warranty.

Have you used any of these products before? What are your favorite cleaning products? Let me know in the comments!
