Pretty Skin

Hi there! Today I wanted to talk to you about one of my favorite things- skincare! I’m actually really into it since I’ve reached my thirties, and I feel that it’s made a big difference in my self-confidence. I also don’t really need much makeup and I can leave the house fairly quickly, so I consider prioritizing skincare to be a win-win. Let’s dive in and discuss the different things I do for my skin.

Cleansing

I use different cleansers depending on what I’ve got going on. If I wore makeup, I use Banila CO Clean it Zero Original Cleansing Balm. I take a pea sized amount and apply to my face, then add water. Next, I add E.L.F. Holy Hydration! Daily Cleanser, which has become my absolute favorite. It’s cheap, I can find it in-store and online, and cleans my face very well without leaving it dry or tight. A couple of times a week I use Lush Happy Skin Enzymic Facial Exfoliator. It’s very finely grained and doesn’t feel like it’s scratching my skin. I also use this under my arms to remove deodorant residue.

Toning

I’m a simple girl when it comes to toner. I switch between E.L.F. Pure Skin Toner and Thayer’s Coconut Water Witch Hazel Toner. Both are very gentle on my skin and help me feel totally clean. I put these on a cotton pad and swipe on my face.

Moisturizer

I’ve mentioned this product before, but I use my Aesop Lightweight Facial Hydrating Serum every single day. I’ve gotten more compliments on my skin since I started using this than ever before. I think I’m on my third or fourth bottle. It is an investment but I’ve yet to find another moisturizer that my skin likes this much. It literally drinks it.

Sunscreen

Do NOT skip sunscreen. Use it every single week. I’ve used several and now my favorite is actually….Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen SPF 40! It’s a clear gel that mixes very well with the products I mentioned above. Also, it’s cheap and easy to find. If you do not have a Trader Joe’s near you, Glossier’s Invisible Shield Priming Sunscreen is another clear gel that doesn’t leave any sort of cast and is available online.

Sheet Masks

These are basically just an extra moisture boost. I bought this set from Facetory; they have a great assortment and some even include a bonus ampoule of serum that you can slather on before the mask. When using these I will tone but skip the moisturizer.

Eye Patches

I’ve recently become obsessed with eye patches; they soothe and hydrate the undereye area. Don’t expect a miracle, but they feel nice while you’re sipping your morning coffee. Try these from Amazon.

What’s your skincare routine? Is there anything I should add to mine? Let me know in the comments!
